Home remedies can also remove these stains. Home remedies in the sense they can be cleaned by the products which are easily available in your house. Some of the ways are as follows:

Water-Lemon Mixture

You can use water and lemon mixture to clean these orange stains from the shower, bathtub, etc. You have to take a spray bottle and fill it up with water; after that, squeeze at least a half of lemon in it.

Now, spray the mixture onto the orange stains and rub the stains to remove them. Make sure to shake the bottle very well before using it so that the content inside the bottle is mixed well. After rubbing the stain, rinse that area with normal water and then wipe it with a dry cloth.

Vinegar And Baking Soda

Vinegar and baking soda are known as good cleaners for stubborn stains. When vinegar and baking soda are mixed together, they create an acidic lather that can clean hard spots. 

Take a bowl, mix vinegar and baking soda in it, take a scrubber or sponge, dip it in the vinegar and baking soda solution and then rub the sponge or scrubber onto the area where stains are present. Rub it vigorously so that the stain comes off easily. After the stain is cleaned, wash that area with water to remove all the lather and the stains. After washing the whole area, pat dries it.


You can also clean these orange stains with borax. Simply take some borax on the hard bristle brush and rub it on the affected area with a few drops of water. When the stains come out, wash the area with water and wipe it.

Chemical Cleaning

When the orange stains get too big and prominent, it becomes difficult to remove them because they can not be removed by the normal cleaners mentioned above. When orange stains get serious, they need highly acidic chemicals to be cleaned thoroughly. There are various chemicals that are used in cleaning tough spots. These chemicals are as follows:

Hydrochloric Acid

Acids have high pH, so they can remove these orange stains, take a cloth or sponge, dip it in the hydrochloric acid, and rub the area with orange spots. You will see that it is cleaned after rubbing for a few minutes. 

Oxalic Acid

This acid can also remove the orange stains, and you can apply it in the same manner as hydrochloric acid to clean the orange stains.

Things To Avoid While Cleaning The Orange Stains

There are also some things from which you should be careful while cleaning the stains, such as:

  1. Do not clean the orange stains with a normal house cleaner because they will not get cleaned.
  2. Do not directly rub the stains by hand because they will not come off, and you will also hurt yourself by doing so.
  3. When chemical cleaning, remember to wear gloves because otherwise, you will damage your hands.
